Summary:

Considering anterior substructure designs for lithium disilicate crowns, a hybrid substructure design that supports a cusp to fossa anterior guidance relationships can increase the strength of the ceramic system without having to compromise the esthetic integrity of the crown. Refractive index values increase when the substructure thickens. Increasing the thickness of the substructure results in a crown of higher value. Acknowledging the individual strengths and weaknesses of the components of the biphase lithium disilicate porcelain system, it is possible to engineer structural stabilization factors in all ceramic crown design that will increase strength functions and at the same time not sacrifice the esthetic beauty desired in all ceramic crowns.

The replacement of a single tooth with dental implants, especially when the patient has a high smile line, has been an esthetic challenge in implant dentistry. Typically, it requires very careful stages to create the final restoration as natural as possible. Digital Workflow for Anterior Implant Aesthetics
We have seen excellent results in the aesthetic zone when immediate implant placement techniques have been used. A review of the current literature reveals and confirms the re-education of mid-buccal facial recession is best when an immediate provisional is used. If we can digitize this information and create a crown-root form matrix, we can allow tissue to maintain the exact 3D position of the crown and root of the tooth that is to be replaced. A technique using "dicom" files and "STL" files of the original tooth-root will be demonstrated. This will allow ideal healing of the surrounding hard and soft tissues in for any implants restoration.
