Course Description:

This course demonstrates the newest techniques in gingival reconstruction and soft tissue grafting. Including the use of bioactive modifiers such as PRGF and Emdogain.

Learning Objectives:

  • To understand the technique of tunnel grafting and when to apply it.
  • How and when to utilize allograft soft tissue for gingival augmentation.
  • To understand the technique of free autogenous gingival grafting and when it is best utilized.
  • To appreciate bioactive modifiers and root conditioners, and their roles in gingival augmentation.

1 Modified Tunneling Technique
A complete surgery utilizing the modified tunneling technique.
2 Free Gingival Graft - Current Strategies
The surgical techniques involved in grafting free gingival tissue from harvest to suturing.
3 Utilizing Bioactive Modifiers
Dr. Salama takes you through the process of preparing and using Alloderm from LifeCell and Emdogain from Straumann.
4 Periodontal Plastic Surgery
Current trends in Soft Tissue Grafting utilizing both autogenous and allograft tissues.
5 Current Biological Trends in Aesthetic Periodontology
In this lecture, Dr. Andre Saadoun outlines the trends in the diagnostic, biological and surgical realms that are currently utilized to optimize periodontal plastic procedures in esthetic and implant therapy.
