Site Preservation of Tissue (SPOT): The Synergy of Partial Extration Therapy & Osseodensification Premium Member Content

Site Preservation of Tissue (SPOT): The Synergy of Partial Extration Therapy & Osseodensification
Tooth extraction leads to loss of bundle bone and soft tissue. This is a possible limitation for immediate or delayed implant placement. As a result, it is often necessary to performed extensive augmentation procedures to facilitate implant placement. Partial Extraction Therapy preserves bundle bone and soft tissue while Osseodensification improves primary implant stability through preservation of and autografting of trabecular bone. This presentation outlines the biological rational and benefits of tissue preservation to optimize oral reconstruction with dental implants. S.P.O.T is a comprehensive treatment methodologies based upon preservation of nature. The objective is to emphasize how the use of innovative diagnostics, surgical techniques, and instrumentation can preserve or enhance treatment outcomes.

Central-Lateral Dilemma for Immediate Implant Placement Premium Member Content

Central-Lateral Dilemma for Immediate Implant Placement
The periodontal ligament is the main source of blood supply to the buccal bundle bone, but also to the peri-implant soft tissue and interproximal bone. Partial extraction therapy is a game-changer for adjacent implants. There is not a better possibility to prove it than adjacent central-lateral cases, the topic that occupied us so much on the DentalXP Forum.

Esthetic Zone Combination Cases Utilizing Partial Extraction Therapy Premium Member Content

Esthetic Zone Combination Cases Utilizing Partial Extraction Therapy
Buccal cortical plate collapse of the postextraction ridge especially in the anterior dentition is a challenging situation in restorative and implant dentistry. Implant surgeons should try to preserve or in case of delayed approach to reconstruct those surrounding tissues in order to have longterm success. A variety of ridge preservation techniques have been described in the literature, but besides immediate implant placement there is a special approach that uses the root itself to maintain the cortical plate. It’s Partial Extraction Therapy, an umbrella name, collecting Socket Shield, Pontic Shield and Root Submerge technique together. The biology behind PET is the maintainance of periodontal ligaments attached to the intentionally left root (fragment) which provide blood supply of the cortical plate from inside the socket.

Modern dentistry is comprehensive, comprehensive dentistry is interdisciplinary, interdisciplinary dentistry is facially driven, Facially Driven dentistry starts with Smile Design. Facially Driven Natural looking Smile Design is the starting point of modern restorative dentistry and the key to improve diagnosis and decision making. The importance of understanding how to consistently create adequate smile designs in harmony with faces is underrated in dentistry and the notion that this topic is under control is overrated. We don’t know what we don’t know. The aim of this lecture is to highlight the challenges, evolution, and the important concepts to become a great smile designer and also how to use technology to streamline the process and deliver naturally beautiful healthy smiles consistently.

Ultraconservative Approach with Porcelain Veneers Premium Member Content

Ultraconservative Approach with Porcelain Veneers
Achieving excellence with porcelain veneers and being ultraconservative with your preparation at the same time is very challenging. Digital Dentistry has definitely changed the way we plan, design, and fabricate veneers and the digital workflow is considered the easiest and most popular way of changing smiles nowadays. However, in cases where high esthetics is required with minimal preparation, layered feldspathic porcelain is still the material of choice and offers the most natural result. This presentation describes the protocol - from planning to delivery - when using these delicate restorations from both Dentist’s and Ceramist’s point of view.

Reopening the Dental Office in the Covid-19 World

Reopening the Dental Office in the Covid-19 World
The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic sent the world into a situation that was unknown for 100 years and in many countries dental offices were shut down or reduced to emergency settings. However Germany left dental offices open and unrestricted during the outbreak. Dentists in Germany were unsure how to handle the situation. The TroeltzschBrothers published a survey of the data first on the 25th of march that showed ways how to perform dentistry with the danger of Covid-19, including hygiene rules and a guide how to properly use the surgical mask. This summary spread around the world and was translated into several languages. They also have been present in multiple webinars. In this lecture, Dr. Markus Troeltzsch gives an insight into the disease and its spread, how dentists can work with the menace of this virus and shows ways how to practice. The literature is critically reviewed and the efficiency of dental protection techniques is demonstrated.

Integrating Orthodontics with Orthognatic Surgery; From Virtual Planning to Clinical Excellence
Dentofacial deformities in adults require the combination and skills of the orthodontist and maxillofacial surgeon. In order to achieve all the functional and esthetic goals. In digital dentistry’s days virtual planning of orthodontics and orthognatic surgical corrections has become a valuable tool. Results can be compared to planning both for reevaluation and sharing information with colleagues and our patients. Virtual planning account for more reliable and precise results in our orthognatic surgery. Orthodontic preparation is the gold standard for maximizing the surgical correction. Cases will illustrate our treatment protocol from A to Z for these complex and challenging situations.

Orthodontic Management of Impacted Teeth Premium Member Content

Orthodontic Management of Impacted Teeth
Over the last 25 years we have managed different clinical situations that include every tooth in the mouth that can be impacted on an orthodontic patient. We will focus the webinar both on mucogingival considerations as well as orthodontic biomechanics. Impacted teeth can be a challenge and can make a treatment last longer. We will show a logic approach to these situations. That produces good stability, periodontal health and relative short treatment time.
