Achieving Stable Esthetic Results with Implant Supported Restorations

Description:
Since implant dentistry has become a common treatment for replacing missing teeth, dentists have been trying to mimic natural tooth morphology in order to achieve both functional result and to fulfill the patient’s esthetic desires. What was considered the standard of care 26 years ago is not necessarily valid today. The criteria for implant include osseointegration and the possibility for optimal restoration. This presentation will focus on the management of the hard and soft tissue around dental implants and analyzing the characteristics of different periodontal biotypes. We will discuss basic concept regarding immediate implant placement and guided bone regeneration procedure related to the esthetic zone before focusing on the soft tissue management. We will describe the prosthetic procedures which are performed before, during and after the surgical procedures. Provisional restorations, impression techniques, prosthetic profiles and restorative materials will be presented. The purpose of the presentation is to provide a check list that will guide the clinician developing a proper analysis and diagnosis for the successful esthetic result with implant supported restoration.

Great presentation embarking cutting edge knowledge both surgical and prosthetic. One question for Dr Luca Gobbato, - in the case of the single lat. implant with missing bone in the apical part to the implant, wouldn't be appropriate to use the esthetical buccal flap described by Dr. Steigman? - less invasive and more straight fw Thanks you guys - looking fw for your next presentation.

Dental Ceramics: Material Properties and Clinical Applications - Part 1 of 3
This presentation will give viewers a background of the physical and mechanical properties of current dental ceramics. The material properties of the ceramics will be used to explain clinical recommendations for selecting a restorative material and designing the prosthesis. Additionally, laboratory research data will be presented to help the clinician determine the best method to cement or bond an all-ceramic restoration. Finally, an overview of laboratory fabrication of all-ceramic restorations will be presented in order to show clinicians their options when sending out a laboratory prescription.

Choosing Anterior Ceramics – The Concept of Restorative Volume - Part 1 of 2
In this lecture the author presents reviews significant literature and integrates it with clinical experience to select relevant factors that could provide a logical and practical guideline for restorative decisions in anterior teeth. The presented Concept of Restorative Volume is based on structural, optical, and periodontal factors. Each of these factors will influence the short and long-term behavior of restorations in terms of esthetics, biology, and function.

A Simple Technique to Create an Interim Provisional Restoration
It is usually a challenge for a patient to feel immediately comfortable with his or her new smile. One of the best ways to gain patient acceptance of the new smile is to place provisional restorations that mimic the final ceramic restoration in both tooth form and color.

Two Immediate Temporization Methods Exemplified: Flap vs. Punch Technique in Implant Surgery
Protocols and techniques for immediate tooth replacement in the esthetic zone have become more popular and predictable within the past decade. Two different clinical scenarios are presented where immediate temporization of implants placed into healed or augmented ridges is exemplified. The benefits of augmentation prior to implant placement and temporization are that flap elevation is not required; therefore, the blood supply to the labial plate is not compromised, thereby eliminating potential midfacial recession. In addition, the soft tissue subgingival shape of the temporary crown can be non-surgically sculpted at the time of implant placement since the patient is already anesthetized.
