It is becoming rare today to come across simple cases in Periodontics; our specialty has come to face complex cases where hard and soft tissue deficiencies are quite common. These suggested protocols and schematic approaches were developed to help the surgical practitioner visualize and divide the problem into a predictable step-by-step workflow. The utilization of 3-D printed CBCT studies of the treatment planned surgical sites was shown to be integral in patient care and clinical outcomes. Every step is dictated by biology; all incision designs, flap management techniques, and biomaterials used have been selected to maximize the blood supply in the area and minimize trauma to the vascular network that nourishes our surgical site.

Restoration of Optimal Esthetics in Complex Clinical Situations
Patients often neglect or delay dental care for an extended time because of their negative experiences with and fear of dental treatments. This neglect may result in the advance of periodontitis with severe bone loss, a substantial number of missing teeth, and problems with the remaining teeth. Preexisting malocclusion can aggravate this condition. This case report demonstrates an interdisciplinary strategic approach, in combination with the use of biologically grounded, clinically proven, and viable techniques and technologies to restore optimal esthetics and function in such complex cases. The authors emphasize the importance of carefully planning the timing and sequence of performing periodontal, orthodontic, and implant therapies. The advanced techniques and technologies successfully implemented in this case report include the growth factor and titanium mesh (Ti mesh)-assisted bone augmentation; ovate pontic-mediated, noninvasive soft tissue contouring; and photofunctionalization

Sonic Weld and BMP-2 for Bone Augmentation of a Severe Anterior Maxillary Defect
This video highlights the diagnosis and treatment of a Severe Type 3 Vertical deficiency in the Anterior Maxilla. The utilization of a new resorbable rigid Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) membrane and the technique of Sonic Weld is highlighted using clinical video and animation. The process of debridement of the site and then shaping and securing the rigid PLA pins and mesh are featured utilizing clinical video and animation. The additional use of BMP-2/ACS and Mineross in a 50-50 mixture is used a bone graft substitute. Tension Free closure, suturing and early healing are also displayed.

A biological thinking will dramatically simplify vertical and/or horizontal bone augmentation procedures. We will also be introducing a new approach for the simplification of soft tissue handling: the Soft Brushing Technique, that will allow the coronal advancement of both buccal and lingual flaps, but also the palatal flap without the need for periosteal releasing incisions.

Atrophic Posterior Maxillan and Mandible: Alveolar Ridge Reconstruction with Mandibular Block Autografts
Autogenous bone grafts have been used for many years for alveolar ridge augmentation and are still considered to be the gold standard for jaw reconstruction. The use of these grafts with osseointegrated implants was originally discussed by Brånemark et al., who used the iliac crest as the donor site. For repair of most localized alveolar defects, however, bone grafts from the mandible offer advantages over iliac crest grafts. These include the proximity of donor and recipient sites, convenient surgical access, decreased donor site morbidity and decreased cost. This article focuses on posterior maxillary and mandibular osseous augmentation in a staged approach for implant placement. Both horizontal and vertical deficiencies are addressed with the use of symphysis and ramus buccal shelf donor block bone via case presentations.
