Wayne Moesching- very good explanation of technique and rational for doing it.

Do the presenter answer personally to the many questions I see posted?

Jannie Tromp - (3/26/2018 3:05 PM)

Dear Prof Zucchelli, I am a GP dentist and have done many free gingival grafts over the years. Most successful but always tended to leave a scar due to the fact that I have not removed the epithelium at all. Thank you for a very informative lecture. Indeed very helpful. Please could you provide me of the following information: 1. What multi filament sutures do you use for grafting? Any specific brand name and where to find it? 2. Where can I find 24% EDTA. Cannot trace it in the UK. Thank you. I cannot find Part 2 of your lecture. Will it be available or is it available and just that I could not find it on Dental XP? Best wishes Dr Jannie Tromp (U.K.) jannie.tromp@btinternet.com

Great information, thank you. Do you recommend a stent to cover the palate during the healing phase?

NIKOLAOS GREVENITIS - (2/25/2018 3:57 AM)

Brilliant video! !!so explanatory! !!

KM - (2/8/2018 9:08 PM)

will the palate repair itself in the same way or as well if the superficial layer is removed as opposed to the middle layer? let's say we would like to work on 4 quadrants, obviously 2 at a time, but how long will you wait before reharvesting from the palate at the same site. and will you expect better secondary tissue if you had taken only the middle layer of tissue the first time or only the superficial layer? or will the newly regrown tissue be about the same in both cases? thank you, kelly mayer

Having subscribed to the Zuchhelli channel, this is one of many excellent presentations on soft-tissue management. Incredibly detailed-oriented learning experience.

Innovative Sequencing for Interdisciplinary Aesthetic Treatment
Smile enhancement therapy has become an important facet of the everyday aesthetic practice. Aesthetic evaluation utilizing facial aesthetic design to diagnose tooth position demands effective communication between the periodontal-restorative team. This presentation will review innovative sequencing techniques for interdisciplinary cases which require aesthetic crown lengthening for the treatment of excessive gingival display, and for gingival augmentation for root coverage, and the correction of poor gingival quality. Immediate implant placement with immediate non–loaded provisional fabrication will also be reviewed.

Diagnosis, Planning, & Treatment of Altered Passive Eruption; From a Periodontists Perspective
This presentation will teach how to diagnose cases of altered passive eruption based on the radiographic evaluation (with peri-apical rx and CBCT) and how to plan and document a surgical procedure aimed to ‘uncover’ the beautiful and natural hidden enamel. In a world where esthetics is becoming more and more a concern a simple periodontal plastic surgical procedure can re-establish esthetic and balance to the patients affected by this condition.

Use of the Subepithelial Connective Tissue Graft to Improve Esthetics
The subepithelial connective tissue graft is a gingival grafting plastic surgery procedure that can be used to enhance the aesthetic and gingival contour of the periodontium around dental implants. This technique is described and illustrated to create a soft-tissue root prominence and mask the grey color penetrating the thin labial attached gingival tissues over dental implants.

Soft Tissue Cone-Beam Computed Tomography: A Novel Method for the Measurement of Gingival Tissue and the Dimensions of the Dentogingival Unit
The purpose of the present study was to develop a soft tissue cone-beam computed tomography (ST-CBCT) to improve soft tissue image quality and allow the determination of the dimensions and relationships of the structures of the dentogingival unit. Two separate CBCT scans were obtained from three patients with different periodontal biotypes. The first was a scan following standard methods; however, for the ST-CBCT the patients wore a plastic lip retractor and retracted their tongues toward the floor of their mouths.

Bone Regeneration and Tissue Acceptance of Human Fascia Lata Grafts Adjacent to Dental Implants

Bone Regeneration and Tissue Acceptance of Human Fascia Lata Grafts Adjacent to Dental Implants
The biologic principle of guided tissue regeneration (GTR) has been studied extensively in hopes of regenerating alveolar bone. Various materials have been utilized as regenerative membranes; however, all materials have disadvantages, and the ideal membrane material is yet to be identified. In this case report, human freeze-dried fascia lata strips were used as a regenerative barrier membrane in conjunction with the placement of endosseous root implants and demineralized, freeze-dried bone allograft.…
