Customized 3D Treatment Planning Concepts - Matching Receptor Sites with Specific Implant Designs - Part 2 of 2

Description:
This presentation will cover detailed concepts of diagnosis and treatment planning using state-of-the-art 3-D imaging modalities for the purpose of customizing therapy based on individual implant receptor sites. In addition, specific suggestions on incorporating new and innovative design features into your treatment design to achieve higher degrees of esthetic success as well as ease of use in the surgical or prosthetic phase will be discussed. These will include new surface treatments such as the implant micro-geometry, Laser-Lok microchannels, narrow diameter implants, as well as when to use straight vs. tapered implant designs.

Nice presentation by Dr. Scott Ganz on Implant Design and 3D planning. What implant designs are you utilizing now? Band

hi Dr.Ganz, thank you for very professional presentation.you show the connective tissue adherence to the micro-lock surface, although Dr.Tarnow states that bone "likes" rough surface, while soft tissue likes smooth, polished one.Your comments, please. thank you, Alex.

Sam Busich - (1/8/2011 9:17 AM)

I really enjoyed the visual aspects of the presentation by Dr. Ganz. Often, in cases with severe swings in Bone density I find the 3D images less accurate? Is this due to the "tolerances" set in the software. You did not seem to have this problem. thanks Sam

Immediate Implant Dentistry: A Predictable & Routine Treatment
The topic of one day implants (Teeth in a Day, Same Day Implants, etc.) is very popular in implant dentistry. This topic has existed since the introduction of implants into dentistry as the Clinician wishes to reduce chairside time, and the Patient wishes to have less visits to the dental clinician. Until now, there hasn’t been a good scientifically-supported way to provide One Day Implants. To make it a reality, many objective key factors have been discussed and developed in implant dentistry. Implant design was developed in order to achieve vital initial and long-term stability and surface treatments developed as well for secondary stability. In addition, various methods have been developed to determine implant stability which are very helpful to provide one day implants.

Current Concepts in Immediate Implants
Immediate implants have several advantages over traditional phased implant placement. Shortened treatment time and a single surgical procedure are among some of these benefits. Although the surgical techniques can be more challenging, immediate implants can be a predictable treatment modality in both the esthetic zone and molar sites. This presentation will discuss immediate implant placement and temporization in the esthetic zone as well as immediate replacement of molar sites using regular platform implants. More advanced technical procedures, including simultaneous sinus augmentation and guided bone regeneration will also be discussed.

The Role of Digital Technologies & Materials for Full-Arch Implant Reconstruction
In prosthetic rehabilitations, we used for many years codified and widely described protocols in literature, with results that met our expectations and well above those of our patients. It is true that the advent of new technologies has enabled the dental team to use new material and new equipment that facilitated the production of an adaptation and an accuracy of the prosthetic rehabilitation that has, up to now, been difficult to obtain. In this presentation, we will analyze different cases, highlighting the operational differences that they have developed over time, with the increasing knowledge of the new materials and the daily developing of the new software's. It is also described how traditional materials and techniques have been replaced with other innovative new technologies, and how the results obtained with these are systematic and significantly better in updated generations prior.

Finding Z: A Mathematical Method For Predicting Tissue Position After Implant Abutment-Restoration Placement
A visible abutment-restorative interface is a problematic consequence, especially in the esthetic zone. This article presents formulas to predict the vertical tissue position around the abutment-restoration, which can be used both as a guide to the clinical situation and as an aid to computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing design.
