Emerging Concepts in Sinus Augmentation; Atraumatic and Efficient Crestal and Lateral Access Techniques

Description:
This presentation will highlight through in depth clinical case documentation, the new and evolving role of instrumentation for access to the Sinus for Bone Augmentation. Efficiency and minimally invasive approaches which increase success and minimize complications will be highlighted. Posterior Maxillary reconstruction often involves Sinus Augmentation and Implants then inserted into the grafted site. A knowledge of useful and clinically manageable techniques that provide access but minimize large surgical flaps and sinus membrane perforations are keys to success.

Very good presentation.

Gerald Rudick - (7/1/2013 9:35 PM)

Excellent presentation....... what to do upon viewing the inside of the sinus cavity, when suspicion of a mucusele or cyst was considered from the CT scan prior to the operation. Advice of the ENT was to leave the lesion,as it does not interfere with the aeration of the sinus in this case; push it away and place the graft....would Dr. Lee try to remove the lesion or drain the cyst?

Very nice presentation and great skill. Thank you Dr Lee

Saadou; Great question by the way. One of the greatest challenges with a "crestal approach" is management of a sinus tear. Much more difficult to do with a crestal approach in my opinion. Dr. Salama
