Hasan, I will hopefully see Dr. Chiche Friday during the annual Goldstein Lecture at the dental school and will ask him. However, we consistently use a self curing putty and that may be what he is using.

Hasan Albaiyaa - (4/24/2016 8:18 PM)

excellent presentation. I wanted to ask how did he fill in composite into putty matrix while doing the build up in the begining? did he use flowable composite? and then cured through putty. i thought curing doesnt go through the putty?

The Role of Occlusion in Implant Prosthetics
In this presentation Dr. Carlo Poggio delves into the biomechanics and clinical relevance of proper occlusal management in implant dentistry. Combining a thorough review of the literature with clinical dental applications, Dr. Poggio attempts to suggest a rational for designing the occlusion for implant restorations. Topics covered include comparison of occlusal management for teeth and implants. In addition, the importance of controlling the occlusal forces to protect the bone-implant interface from overload and the role of occlusion in peri-implant microbial infection.

CAD/CAM Anterior Esthetic Implant Restorations: The BellaTek Encode Healing Abutment and CAD-Block Ceramics
Digital design software programs for teeth and implant restorations have evolved over the past 5 years. Using CBCT scans and digital preoperative scans, the clinician can properly plan the placement of implant fixtures. Various software programs and intraoral scanners offer analysis of proper implant position, angle of implant placement, and depth of tissue and occlusal clearance. The utilization of coded healing abutments (BellaTek®, Encode®, Biomet 3i) may also add to the precision of design and calibration of all tissue contacting points of the emerging abutment. This article will introduce and describe a current model for fabrication of ideal abutments, and fabrication of CAD/ CAM restorations for the anterior esthetic zone.
