Immediate Implants and Socket Grafting Treatment Strategies

Description:
Long span of treatment, frequent recall visits and second stage surgery makes  conventional implant treatment less favorable as compared to immediate implant  placement. Immediate implant placement overcomes these disadvantages of  conventional implant therapy and gives a better treatment option as compared.  Immediate implant placement is also advantageous in aesthetic areas as patient  can get treatment done immediately reducing surgical and prosthetic sessions,  thereby reducing time and overall visits to the dental office.

I imagine the Dr is a very good surgeon. However, this video reminded me of dental school. Mostly it was before and after. Good luck trying to figure out how we got to after. The process is rarely shown, no difficulties arise at all, and the end result is amazing. It's not very helpful, really.

All-On-Four Implant Protocol- Fad or Phenomena Premium Member Content

All-On-Four Implant Protocol- Fad or Phenomena
The All-on-Four protocol uses fewer implants, generally four implants that are placed at mechanical inclinations to maximize support in the fabrication of fixed implant supported prosthetics in fully edentulous patients. The use of angled implant placement allows the clinician to avoid encroachment of anatomic structures such as the sinus, nasal floor or mandibular canal that may make vertical placement difficult or impossible without significant grafting of deficient sites. This webinar with Dr. George Duello and Dr. Maurice Salma will discuss the various treatment options available today for this patient segment and emphasize when and where the All-On-Four protocol can be successfully utilized to eliminate the need for costly augmentation procedures and months of healing time.

Informed Consent: Dr. Dennis Tarnow Part 5 of 6
In this 5th of a 6 part interview with Dr. Dennis Tarnow, the very important topic of informed consent is discussed. Key components of this very broad based topic that are discussed include identifying the chief complaint, the patient 's expectations as well as informing the patient about long-term ramifications of a chosen therapeutic modality

In this lecture, tips on how to deal with the different types of extraction socket, mostly infected, will be presented. The use of plasma rich in growth factors and the Endoret® (PRGF®) fibrin membrane is a key factor to enhance socket regeneration, post-operative recovery and minimize/treat complications.

Zirconia Implants in the Age of 3D Imaging: An Alternative Therapy for Aesthetics and Function
Computer Guiding dental implants provides perfect positioning for mechanics and cosmetic results. The advantages provided by the implant selection utilizing interactive software libraries allows the implantologist to choose the best diameter, length and implant design for the specific surgical site. Zirconia implants can be computer guided and planned with interactive software and will provide enhanced aesthetic results as well as top gingival health due to the multiple advantages of zirconia. The purpose of this lecture is to describe an alternative procedure to computer guide Zirconia Implants in the aesthetic zone and to manage the functional aspects related to loading and functional requirements for a long lasting stability of the case.

The Role of Digital Technologies & Materials for Full-Arch Implant Reconstruction Premium Member Content

The Role of Digital Technologies & Materials for Full-Arch Implant Reconstruction
In prosthetic rehabilitations, we used for many years codified and widely described protocols in literature, with results that met our expectations and well above those of our patients. It is true that the advent of new technologies has enabled the dental team to use new material and new equipment that facilitated the production of an adaptation and an accuracy of the prosthetic rehabilitation that has, up to now, been difficult to obtain. In this presentation, we will analyze different cases, highlighting the operational differences that they have developed over time, with the increasing knowledge of the new materials and the daily developing of the new software's. It is also described how traditional materials and techniques have been replaced with other innovative new technologies, and how the results obtained with these are systematic and significantly better in updated generations prior.

Immediate Rehabilitation of the Extremely Atrophic Mandible with Fixed Full-Prosthesis Supported by Four Implants
The purpose of this article is to prospectively assess the outcome of immediate rehabilitation of extremely atrophic mandibles by a full-arch fixed bridge anchored to four implants. All patients were followed for a minimum of 1 year (range 20–48 months, mean 30.1 months). No failures were recorded to date. The 1-year implant survival rate and prosthesis success rate were 100%.Marginal bone loss around axial and tilted implants was similar at 12-month evaluation, being, respectively, 0.6 1 0.3 (standard deviation) mm and 0.7 1 0.4 mm. High patient’s level of satisfaction was recorded for function, phonetics, and aesthetics.

Ridge Preservation with Modified “Socket-Shield” Technique: A Methodological Case Series

Ridge Preservation with Modified “Socket-Shield” Technique: A Methodological Case Series
After tooth extraction, the alveolar bone undergoes a remodeling process, which leads to horizontal and vertical bone loss. These resorption processes complicate dental rehabilitation, particularly in connection with implants. Various methods of guided bone regeneration (GBR) have been described to retain the original dimension of the bone after extraction. Most procedures use filler materials and membranes to support the buccal plate and soft tissue, to stabilize the coagulum and to prevent epithelial ingrowth.

Biologic Width Adjacent to Loaded Implant with Machined and Rough Collars in the Dog

Biologic Width Adjacent to Loaded Implant with Machined and Rough Collars in the Dog
Dental implant surface technology has evolved from a relatively smooth machined implant surface for osseointegration to more roughened osteoconductive surfaces. Recent studies suggest that peri-implant soft tissue inflammation with progressive bone loss (ie peri-implantitis) is becoming a prevalent condition. One possibility that could explain sucha a finding is that more bacterial plaque forms on the roughened implant and abutment surfaces, which may result in the peri-implant inflammation if the soft tissues. This study compared 36 tissue-level implants with a machined transmucosal collar to 36 implants with a relatively roughened transmucosal surface in the dog. The results demonstrated that the connective tissue contact was similar between the two implant types but that the junctional epithelium and biologic width dimensions were greater around the implants with the machined collars...
