Early Implant Placement with Contour Augmentation - Biologic Rationale, Surgical Technique & Long-Term Results
Today, the timing of implant placement post-extraction in the esthetic zone is considered an important factor which influences the esthetic treatment outcome. One of these options is early implant placement after 4 to 8 weeks of soft-tissue healing. The purpose of this presentation is to present data and to analyze the stability of esthetic treatment outcomes in patients following single-tooth replacement in the anterior maxilla using the concept of early implant placement with simultaneous contour augmentation. Special emphasis will be placed on assessing the stability of the facial mucosa, since it directly depends on the stability of successful contour augmentation by GBR and to compare it to currently utilized immediate techniques like Dual Zone Therapy (Chu & Tarnow) and Partial Extraction Therapies (Salama & Gluckman).

Emerging concepts in implant dentistry have allowed bone preservation to become a reality, thus reducing the need for extensive augmentation procedures. Nevertheless, clinicians are still confronted with atrophic defects that require complex regenerative strategies for dental implant rehabilitation. This presentation will focus on some of the essential elements for a predictable regenerative protocol in implant site development. A discussion will include the use of defect topography as a guide in choosing a suitable augmentation technique. Several considerations that allow for tension free wound closure will be reviewed. Furthermore, an evidence based approach in graft material selection will be presented. Clinical cases will then be reviewed, to demonstrate how to integrate the presented principles into daily clinical practice.

All-On-Four Implant Protocol- Fad or Phenomena
The All-on-Four protocol uses fewer implants, generally four implants that are placed at mechanical inclinations to maximize support in the fabrication of fixed implant supported prosthetics in fully edentulous patients. The use of angled implant placement allows the clinician to avoid encroachment of anatomic structures such as the sinus, nasal floor or mandibular canal that may make vertical placement difficult or impossible without significant grafting of deficient sites. This webinar will discuss the various treatment options available today for this patient segment and emphasize when and where the All-On-Four protocol can be successfully utilized to eliminate the need for costly augmentation procedures and months of healing time.

Immediate Placement of Dental Implants in the Esthetic Zone: A Systematic Review and Pooled Analysis
Research interest on immediate placement of dental implants has shifted from implant survival toward optimal preservation of soft and hard tissues. The aim of this study is to systematically assess the condition of implant survival, peri-implant hard and soft tissue changes, esthetic outcome, and patient satisfaction of immediately placed single- tooth implants in the esthetic zone. A pooled analysis was performed to identify factors associated with survival and peri-implant tissue changes after immediate implant placement. Immediate placement with immediate provisionalization of dental implants in the esthetic zone results in excellent short-term treatment outcome in terms of implant survival and minimal change of peri-implant soft and hard tissue dimensions.
