Maximizing Esthetics with Minimally Invasive Surgery Around Implants

Description:
Soft tissue deficiencies around implants impact esthetics and often lead to escalating problems. Early recognition and intervention with minimally invasive soft tissue surgery reduces the risk of undesirable sequellae associated with conventional surgical approaches around implants. The application of a minimally invasive soft tissue grafting method will be shown for treatment of soft tissue problems around implants and the indications for use of this technique will be outlined.

Dr. Allen Would you please share your implant surface decontamination procedure? How do you achieve it if with your minimally invasive procedures you don't raise flaps but rather work with tunnels? Thank you for your great presentation.

Band Ditto64 - (8/3/2013 11:54 AM)

Great Lecture Dr. Allen. I really did appreciate the challenges and technical aspects of soft tissue augmentation in defect environments. Do you add any "growth factors" to your Alloderm? thanks Band

Maurice Salama - (8/2/2013 10:20 PM)

Pat; Great job. With implants, would you ever utilize autogenous tissue over Alloderm? What is your criteria? thanks as always Maurice

Nathaniel Podilsky - (7/8/2013 6:35 PM)

Great results. Enjoyed this presentation.

Novel Surgical BioSealing & Original BioProfiling Techniques - Part 1 of 2
Biphosphonates Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw is one of the tragedies affecting our patients each time more often representing a new challenge in what we like to call human dentistry. This severe and unpredictable outcome can evolve from something as simple as a tooth extraction or simply an implant placement. In this presentation the authors display one of the first BRONJ cases in the world treated with the surgical biosealing technique using the PRGF ENDORET graft. Understanding the BIOlogy behind the healing process has been as much surprising as useful in trying to alleviate our patients pain and improve their quality of life. This video presents a novel technique to the post-extraction site based upon taking care of the overall tissue support from the bone level and we will discuss treatment planning, options and limitations with this technique/protocol.

Bone Augmentation & Vascular Enhancement Concepts: It’s Time to Make it Simple!
The purpose of this presentation is to make the participant think biology first and not mechanic first. A biological thinking will dramatically simplify vertical and/or horizontal bone augmentation procedures. We will also be introducing a new approach for the simplification of soft tissue handling: the Soft Brushing Technique, that will allow the coronal advancement of both buccal and lingual flaps, but also the palatal flap without the need for periosteal releasing incisions.

Clinical Procedures to Control Tissue Esthetics in Implant Dentistry Premium Member Content

Clinical Procedures to Control Tissue Esthetics in Implant Dentistry
The demand for creating esthetic restorations has become a consistent theme in dental literature and in daily clinical practice. Surgical concepts that are emphasized as important to the esthetic outcome include resective procedures to change bone volume and levels, as well as additive procedures such as tissue grafting to alter the biotype and volume around teeth and implants. Predominately with implant treatment, today's surgical and restorative strategies play an important role in post-extractive tissue guidance, mandating precise surgical techniques, and emphasizing cooperation and coordination between the surgical and restorative team members. This webinar will explore some of the complications of treatment, underscoring the responsibility of the surgical and restorative teams to critically assess emerging treatment concepts, materials and techniques.

Combination Therapies in the Esthetic Zone: Steps for Success
This presentation will cover the critical aspects to consider for deciding the sequence and implementation of combination therapies. Successful esthetic zone treatment must begin with a well thought-out space management plan. This plan involves a three dimensional adjustment of the periodontal attachment, with a possibility of root submergence and partial extraction technique. Following this, a decision is made concerning the timing and position of implant placement, and an adequate hard tissue foundation can be restored using GBR with titanium mesh and collagen membrane. On top of this base a more efficient soft tissue augmentation and adjustment completes the requirements for success in the esthetic zone.

Similarities Between an Acellular Alloderm and a Palatal Graft for Tissue Augmentation
Predictable tissue regeneration presents a considerable challenge in the surgical treatment of gingival tissue defects. Soft-tissue augmentation procedures to increase the existing or create a new zone of attached keratinized gingival tissue have classically been performed using the patient's own masticatory mucosa and, more recently, using an acellular dermal allograft as the donor material. This article presents a clinical case whereby an acellular dermal allograft was placed on the buccal surface…

Acellular Dermal Matrix Grafts for Root Coverage Procedures: Review of Products and Introduction of a New Technique
Gingival recession remains a significant problem in dental esthetics as well as periodontal health. Adequate zones of keratinized, attached tissue are vital for long-term periodontal health and maintenance. The correction of gingival recession is an important principle in cosmetic dental procedures that requires a harmonious gingival complex. Correction of deficient gingival tissues by either autogenous or allogenic tissue grafts has been well documented in the literature. This article will delineate differences among the various acellular dermal grafts as well as introduce a new technique that can enhance success.

Soft Tissue Waxup and Mock-Up as Key Factors in a Treatment Plan: Case Presentation
Rehabilitation of edentulous spaces in esthetic areas is a challenge to the clinician due to the loss of soft tissues. In these clinical situations, it would be desirable to evaluate and predict the gingival architecture to recover in the oral rehabilitation. To fulfill this need, the diagnostic was should anticipate the final rehabilitation with the integration of hard and soft tissue.
