Thanks Sam for the compliments.
As for the latest tips and tricks- the crucial point in every minimal invasive sinus procedure is reaching the membrane without tearing it.I currently use with high satisfaction the special drills cutting sideways only fabricated by Osstem or hiossen. It makes the procedure very quick.
Another tip is injecting flowable graft material instead of particles- again shortening the time period of the procedure.

Compliments Ziv. As I have always seen you making alterations and refining your techniques, what is your latest information or "tricks" to make the procedure even better? Is their a new product you are using or testing? thanks Sam

Some answers to my viewers: Michael Moutsios- when we do have a perf using Miambe it is quite small therefore waiting ust a few weeks is enough before reentering the site. Colin- thickening of the sinus mebrane is not a contra indication unless the ostium is blocked. Chuck- the membrane to my opinion is crucial for bone regeneration and therefore I would not patch it with a collagen membrane unless there is a perf.

Dr Mazor, excellent review of sinus lift.I have watched your presentation last year in Greece. Please tell me,when we have membrane perforation with miambe, does the pressure of ballon make perforation bigger?Thank you and hope we meet in Romania

Site Preparation & Osseodensification in Bone Management
Today's implant arena involves not only the understanding of procedures but also the science behind wound healing. Often new technologies and instrumentation evolves that have a significant impact on what we are able to do clinically. Piezosurgical devices, periotomes, osteotomes, hydraulic sinus devices, neurosurgical drills, and the "PET" (Partial Extraction Therapies) system are just a short list of those that have made surgery more efficient and less traumatic for our patients. Osseodensification is another concept that can be added to this long list. This lecture will speak about new age bone management concepts and how these technologies may be able to assist us. Potential issues and focus on use will be touched upon as well.

Sinus Floor Elevation: A Clinical, Radiographic and Histologic Overview
This presentation and imbedded HD videos will highlight the important aspects of the Sinus Lift procedure and how to increase the success rate while minimizing complications. An overview of the procedure with detail radiographic planning and follow up outcomes will be displayed and histoligical results highlighted to gain an appreciation of the timing of bone fill and when you can place and load implants in the augmented sinus. Complications and their management will be equally covered with an impetus on case and patient management and follow up care. Common medications and techniques for each procedure will be noted.

Transcrestal Sinus Floor Elevation: Most Frequently Asked Questions
Over 20 years of clinical application and research on transcrestal sinus floor elevation (TSFE) procedures using a variety of implants, graft materials and instrumentation has proven its reliability, and versatility. While improving upon the original osteotome technique they have not yet eliminated the need for a more invasive lateral approach, especially at sites with very limited (1-2 mm) sub-antral bone. Extensive analysis of the existing research and long-term clinical experience will provide the answers to the most pertinent questions surrounding the transcrestal approach including but not limited to: patient selection, clinical limitations, instrumentation, graft selection/necessity and management of membrane perforations.

Tissue Engineering and Platelet Derived Growth Factors: Evidence Based Therapy Premium Member Content

Tissue Engineering and Platelet Derived Growth Factors: Evidence Based Therapy
Platelet derived growth factors are now routinely utilized in reconstructive therapy. This presentation describes very detailed and evidence based guidelines for clinicians interested in enhancing their abilities in tissue engineering, especially as it relates to bone augmentation. Specifically, while successful bone augmentation requires the standard surgical parameters of space maintenance, low pressure on the grafts and tension-free flap closure, optimization of this goal requires management and enhancement of the local biological conditions with growth factors. Towards that end, platelet concentrates through the constant release of growth factors are able to promote and enhance new vascularization, provide plasma protein, normal lipidemia, as well as increased collagen and fibrin activity.

Sinus Floor Augmentation With Simultaneous Implant Placement Using Choukroun’s Platelet-Rich Fibrin as the Sole Grafting Material: A Radiologic and Histologic Study at 6 Months
Sinus augmentation with simultaneous implant placement without bone graft material is a hotly debated technique. This technique could be improved and secured by the use of an autologous leukocyte-and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) (Choukroun’s technique) concentrate. The objectives of this study were to assess the relevance of PRF clots and membranes as the sole filling material during a lateral sinus lift with immediate implantation using radiologic and histologic analyses in a case series.
