Course Description:
Bacterial infections have historically been treated with antibiotics, but we’ve been using antibiotics for decades and still have very high rates of disease. We also have higher failure rates for implants than we do for natural teeth when patients are in treatment for chronic periodontitis.
You can get better results with long-term success using prescription Perio Tray™ delivery of hydrogen peroxide gel deep into periodontal pockets. Research shows that this delivery combined with SRP leads to more significant pocket depth and bleeding reductions than SRP alone. This presentation highlights the science behind the delivery, its practical implementation, case presentation ideas, and everyday business calculations.
Nutrition is also crucial to good oral health. It is the foundation of optimal immune function, tissue health, circulatory performance, detoxification efficiency, and microbial balance. Targeted improvements in nutritional status prior to oral interventions can lead to significantly better outcomes. Addressing nutritional deficient can also benefit long-term implant health.
Learning Objectives::
Identify the benefits and limitations of antimicrobials with oxidative and oxygenating reactions for biofilm management.
Recognize patient candidates who can benefit from Rx Tray therapy and the appropriate tray treatment protocol.
Identify critical nutrition factors that prepare a patient for oral interventions and procedures.
Understand nutrition strategies that support oral and gut-mediated microbial immune response.
Use three simple tools to boost detoxification pathways for faster post-procedural recovery.
