A Novel Technique for Epithelium Removal from FGG Premium Member Content

A Novel Technique for Epithelium Removal from FGG
Removing epithelium from a free gingival graft the Zucchelli Mucogingival Esthetic Surgery does it has always been a challenge for me. I can never quite remove the epithelium as seamlessly as Professor Zuccheli. This is a technique I have experimented with recently which greatly simplifies the technique by holding the tissue firmly between two sterile tongue depressors. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you!

The Great Debate on Soft Tissue Regeneration Premium Member Content

The Great Debate on Soft Tissue Regeneration
Recession and soft tissue deficiencies are a significant challenge in restorative and implant dentistry. A variety of different approaches and techniques using minimally invasive flaps and micro-surgical instrumentation have been proposed in this session with some of the leading clinicians in the field. A conceptual debate format discussing the virtues of CTG, FGG, pedicle grafts, as well as vestibular approaches, growth factor mediated-ACDM and flap management as well as key suturing aspects were discussed.

"The Great Debate" on Tooth Replacement
Bucco-palatal collapse of the post-extraction ridge is a significant challenge in restorative and implant dentistry. A variety of different approaches as well as ridge preservation techniques using tissue and augmentative materials have been proposed in this session with some of the leading clinical research teams in the field. A conceptual debate format discussing the virtues of "Early Placement" at 6 weeks (Buser & Belser Team) vs. "Immediate Placement with Dual Zone Protocols" at time of extraction (Chu & Tarnow Team) vs. "Partial Extraction Therapy" PET (Gluckman & Salama) also at the time of extraction is led by Professor Homa Zadeh of USC. This interactive session explores the current status and poses questions for the future use and indications of each proposed therapy.

Partial Extraction Therapy (PET) The Final Frontier Premium Member Content

Partial Extraction Therapy (PET) The Final Frontier
Buccopalatal collapse of the postextraction ridge is a significant challenge in restorative and implant dentistry. A variety of different approaches as well as ridge preservation techniques using tissue and augmentative materials have been proposed in the literature. A slightly different approach, "PET" is to use the tooth itself by purposely maintaining all or a portion of the root in the remaining socket. Root submergence has been reported in the literature for more than 4 decades, and it has been demonstrated that the submerged tooth root retains the periodontal tissues and preserves the bone in pontic sites or below dentures to retain the ridge. The socket-shield technique entails preparing a tooth root section to remain behind on the labial aspect simultaneous to immediate implant placement and has demonstrated histologic and clinical results that are highly promising to esthetic implant treatment.

The Rotated Palatal Pedicle Flap: A Powerful Connective Tissue Grafting Technique Premium Member Content

The Rotated Palatal Pedicle Flap: A Powerful Connective Tissue Grafting Technique
The rotated palatal pedicle flap was first described in 1999 and has become an essential tool in our box of tricks for implant and soft tissue and bone augmentation surgery. It is a vascularized pedicle graft that helps us achieve excellent soft tissue bulk, increased amounts of attached gingiva and awesome soft tissue contours. It is also important in double flap closure for passive flap closure and many many more treatment options. This webinar will detail the exact techniques to allow you to carry out this excellent grafting procedure as well as many tips and tricks for simplifying and demystifying this technique.

Socket Shield Technique with Immediate Implant Placement & Provisional Premium Member Content

Socket Shield Technique with Immediate Implant Placement & Provisional
The collapse of the buccal bone and the subsequent recession following teeth extraction is effectively prevented with the socket shield technique. This short presentation goes through the techniques for socket shield preparation of a central incisor as well as the fabrication of an immediate chorused provisional utilizing the patients own crown. Creating a walk out as you walk in scenario. This presentation will show a number of tips and tricks to make this technique as simple as possible. It will also show long term stability of the soft tissue and ridge after 18 months. This technique is one that needs to be in everyones armamentarium. The benefits are unbelievable.
