Summary:

Digital design software programs for teeth and implant restorations have evolved over the past 5 years. Using CBCT scans and digital preoperative scans, the clinician can properly plan the placement of implant fixtures. Various software programs and intraoral scanners offer analysis of proper implant position, angle of implant placement, and depth of tissue and occlusal clearance. The utilization of coded healing abutments (BellaTek®, Encode®, Biomet 3i) may also add to the precision of design and calibration of all tissue contacting points of the emerging abutment. This article will introduce and describe a current model for fabrication of ideal abutments, and fabrication of CAD/ CAM restorations for the anterior esthetic zone.

Laser-Assisted Flapless Crown Lengthening: A Case Series
In medicine, and to a lesser extent in dentistry, evolving technologies have served to expand the indications for minimally invasive procedures. In dentistry, lasers, although currently less integral to advances in minimally invasive procedures, are nevertheless evolving as potentially effective adjunctive tools within the therapeutic arena.

Technical Diagnostics and Esthetic Team Approach
Great improvements have been made in the field of esthetic restorations in the last few years. This evolution derives not only from esthetic requirements of the patient, but also from a good relationship between the dentist and the technician. The objective of this topic is to provide valuable information to support the prosthodontic team in the treatment of the various clinical cases. Detailed analysis of the most significant clinical and technical procedures will be described, beginning with the clinical diagnosis and subsequent diagnostic wax up, then progressing to the correct use of the provisional restorations, which are fundamental in the conditioning and correct development of the soft tissues, as well as in the achievement of the functional and esthetic objectives.

Back to the Future: Feldspathic Veneers & Zirconia Layering Techniques
Full monolithic zirconia with external stain technique is one of the popular preference techniques used today. There are many selections of multi-layered zirconia disks and blocks available in the market, which enable dental technicians to produce faster and more esthetic results. When it comes to anterior fabrication, however, full monolithic is not always the best option to process the case. There are many varieties; unique translucencies and characterization that can be seen naturally, making it nearly impossible to achieve with just an external stain technique. That is to say, in order to achieve a natural and lifelike fabrication, a layering technique must be done. This lecture will speak about all ceramic layering technique with current technology of digital tools and how these technologies may be able to assist us.

The Merger of Orthodontics with Cosmetic Dentistry Premium Member Content

The Merger of Orthodontics with Cosmetic Dentistry
As orthodontists, we don’t do laminates. But when we are finishing a case, sometimes the smile just doesn’t “look right”. But not all our patients either want or can afford laminates. Not all even need them to get a great smile. So, what principles can we learn from the cosmetic dentists and use in our orthodontic cases? Apparently quite a lot! In this presentation, Dr. Sarver will illustrate finishing procedures such as reshaping contacts, connectors, embrasures, and even soft tissue contouring with lasers to achieve that next level of smile presentation in your orthodontic cases.
