Summary:

This article presents a reliable and consistent alternative to prosthetically restore cases with an uncertain surgical outcome or for those patients who do not want to undergo regenerative surgical procedures. The innovative hybrid prosthetic gingival restoration makes it possible to predictably achieve an excellent match between the prosthetic and natural gingiva. Understanding the indications and procedures involved with this technique requires a paradigm shift for the whole interdisciplinary team, but with considerable benefits to the patient.

Bonding Lithium Disilicate Ceramic to Feather-Edge Tooth Preparations: A Minimally Invasive Treatment Concept
The purpose of this study is to report short-term clinical outcome of a new minimally invasive prosthetic approach utilizing monolithic lithium-disilicate full crowns bonded to feather-edge tooth preparations. This procedure can be considered a further option for the conservative restorative treatment of single elements where a full crown is required.

Over the past 20 years, many of us have been confused, frustrated, unsure and crazy about ... “How do I get my occlusion philosophy on the right path?” At NYU FMR we have developed tried and true techniques that are guaranteed to make you understand occlusion, contact points and mandibular movement that makes sense, is easy to diagnose and systematically treat with success. In addition being comfortable Restoring OVD, understanding TMJ joint position and treating the worn dentition. Using our SOT methods and Level 1-10 Occlusion Classification we can show you how to become successful in the “Occlusion” of your patients.

“The Full Arch Patient”; A Fully Digital Affair
Guided Surgery (GS) is a concept where you are guided by the rehabilitation needs of your patient to perform the implant surgery procedure based on all the info that we process via planning software that are loaded with digital files coming from intra-oral scanning (IOS) and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). After planning the case, we print a surgical guide or stent to perform the surgery, this technique allows us to do it flap or flapless in a complete secure environment, quicker and more precise if we compare to "freehand" surgery. However, we have to be careful because not all the systems are the same; those who use scoops as reductors are less precise than the "scoopless", no matter which system we use we have to be clear to understand that all the classic concepts of osseointegration are not erased by guided surgery, especially bone physiology.

Achieving Esthetic Results Through Restorative Solutions in Implant Dentistry Premium Member Content

Achieving Esthetic Results Through Restorative Solutions in Implant Dentistry
In the anterior maxilla, the rehabilitation of patients with implant supported restorations is often challenging for clinicians due to the high esthetic demand expressed by patients and anatomic limitations. This lecture will concentrate on restorative treatment guidelines to achieve esthetic results in implant dentistry. It will provide solutions to improve esthetic outcome, as well as guidelines to achieve a more predictable result. In addition, evidence-based outcomes reported in literature evaluating “Pink” implants and abutments will be discussed. This presentation will focus on the interdisciplinary relationship of the surgeon and restorative doctor for all restorative options in tooth replacement therapy.

Biofunctional Dynamic Occlusion Premium Member Content

Biofunctional Dynamic Occlusion
Biofunctional Dynamic Occlusion is a comprehensive approach between occlusion, posture, and function. Overall, this lecture will create an understanding and relationship between the cervical spine and mandibular movements and the trilogy between Joints, Muscles and Occlusion. Most of the patients that we treat for dysfunction, were compromised during the early stages of growth and development. Overtime these created accommodations and compensations in the system induced by the physiology of the airway.
