Customized Abutments: Optimizing integration of Aesthetics, Biology and Function in Implant Dentistry
The CAD/CAM technology gives us the opportunity to provide individualized restorations on implant, from the abutment to the final outcome. Using an anatomic design to support soft tissue and the cosmetic part, we can get nearer to a natural architecture, improving our implant restorations and their long term success. In the same time, a considerable evolution has been observed in the restorative materials, on both mechanical and aesthetics properties, which could be seen as an alternative to traditional materials for implant frameworks.

Biofunctional Dynamic Occlusion
Biofunctional Dynamic Occlusion is a comprehensive approach between occlusion, posture, and function. Overall, this lecture will create an understanding and relationship between the cervical spine and mandibular movements and the trilogy between Joints, Muscles and Occlusion. Most of the patients that we treat for dysfunction, were compromised during the early stages of growth and development. Overtime these created accommodations and compensations in the system induced by the physiology of the airway.

The Implant Supra-Crestal Complex: Building the Foundation for Long-Term Stable Results in Implant Therapy - Part 1 of 2
The lecture reveals recent evidence to identify the impact of design features on both short-term clinical outcomes, as well as on the long-term health of the peri-implant bone and soft tissues. Prosthetic-driven implant placement is the prerequisite for the proper design of the ISC, which in turn can indirectly influence the structure and dimensions of the peri-implant soft tissues. Design features of the implant-prosthesis abutment complex such as the Emergence Profile (EP), Emergence Angle (EA) and Cervical Margin (CM), as well as the design of the implant-abutment and abutment prosthesis junctions and their location in relation to the tissues of the ISC can have significant impact in the maintenance of stable and healthy peri-implant tissues in the long term.

Treating the Terminal Dentition: A Patient-Center Approach
In patients with terminal dentition esthetic and functional replacement is a necessary objective, but no longer a sufficient-objective: nowadays, due to the clinical and extra clinical characteristics of these patients, management of the therapy is as important as its conclusion.
Respect of the principle of autonomy, reduction of treatment length, simplification of surgical procedures and prosthetic management of implant immediate loading are the cornerstones of this philosophy and are the object of this lecture.

The Importance of Facially Driven Smile Design in Modern Comprehensive Dentistry
Modern dentistry is comprehensive, comprehensive dentistry is interdisciplinary, interdisciplinary dentistry is facially driven, Facially Driven dentistry starts with Smile Design. Facially Driven Natural looking Smile Design is the starting point of modern restorative dentistry and the key to improve diagnosis and decision making. The importance of understanding how to consistently create adequate smile designs in harmony with faces is underrated in dentistry and the notion that this topic is under control is overrated. We don’t know what we don’t know. The aim of this lecture is to highlight the challenges, evolution, and the important concepts to become a great smile designer and also how to use technology to streamline the process and deliver naturally beautiful healthy smiles consistently.

A Refined Digital Workflow in Complete Esthetics
Whether it be analog or digital, the DESIGN of a new smile is the most CREATIVE and critical part of the whole workflow and it starts with a direct mock up or a wax up which will be test driven in the patients mouth. It is the first visual communication between the dentist and the patient, and if it is not executed properly, it may create a negative effect on the patient in terms of loss of confidence and case acceptance. However with the combination of digital and analog tools, today every dentist at any skill level can achieve such amazing smile designs with a touch of a button, without the need of any computer skills.

In the Transition Line; Between the Prosthodontics of Today & Tomorrow
Dentistry is evolving rapidly, digital technology is covering all areas of our profession, streamlining the treatment plan and the execution of clinical cases. Prosthodontics more than any other specialty is in this transition zone between analog and digital. With the increase in the popularity of the different procedures of digital dentistry, some questions are born: to what point is the digital age here to replace the human ability? Where are we today to make predictable, repeatable and efficient digital dentistry? among many others. Undoubtedly, the digital era is here to improve our clinical practice, the dentist of today must be aware of the digital processes without forgetting the basic principles of dentistry so that their daily practice is successful and achieve the maximum goal, well-being of the patient.

Enhancing Esthetics with a Fixed Prosthesis Utilizing an Innovative Pontic Design and Periodontal Plastic Surgery
This video addresses how to reestablish or maintain papilla height and the facial gingival tissue between a single or multiple missing teeth adjacent to a natural tooth or an implant by using an innovative pontic design termed the E-pontic.
The anatomical shape of the E-pontic will predictably support and maintain the facial gingival margin and interdental papillae over an acceptable alveolar ridge. The E-pontic design fulfills the prerequisites for maintaining a healthy periodontium and its ability to achieve a predictable long-term esthetic and functional result. The emergence profile of this pontic design that is similar to that of a natural tooth ensures that no palatal gap forms which could potentially cause phonetic problems. Trapping of food particles does not occur because of its unique adaptive design to the pontic recipient site.

Vertical or Shoulderless Preparations in Contemporary Prosthodontics
Tooth preparations without a defined finish line have been termed in several different ways, such as knife edge, feather edge, or shoulderless.
From a biological standpoint, preserving a maximum amount of sound tooth structure, as it is done in vertical preparations, might also offer a more conservative alternative to a horizontal margin design in other clinical conditions such as endodontically treated teeth, vital teeth in young individual, teeth affected by caries at the cervical third. Vertical margins on zirconia crowns have been tested in vitro and clinical reports have been published. A re-evaluation of possible advantages and shortcomings of vertical preparation design in contemporary prosthodontics will be presented in light of recently published literature.

Digital Workflow for Anterior Implant Aesthetics
We have seen excellent results in the aesthetic zone when immediate implant placement techniques have been used. A review of the current literature reveals and confirms the re-education of mid-buccal facial recession is best when an immediate provisional is used. If we can digitize this information and create a crown-root form matrix, we can allow tissue to maintain the exact 3D position of the crown and root of the tooth that is to be replaced. A technique using "dicom" files and "STL" files of the original tooth-root will be demonstrated. This will allow ideal healing of the surrounding hard and soft tissues in for any implants restoration.

Periodontal-Prosthesis in Modern Dentistry – Part 2 of 2
Clinicians must be aware of patient expectations when planning dental treatment. When full mouth reconstruction is planned, it is very important to satisfy such expectations in order to provide successful treatment. Patients are often concerned about the cost and duration of treatment, and the pain, esthetics, comfort, and function after treatment. However, we cannot assure longevity unless the treatment has a scientific basis.

Predictable Implant Aesthetics Utilizing A Custom Fabricated Provisional Abutment & Impression Coping
Mastering the art of predictable implant aesthetics can be challenging. One of the most stressful areas for most dentists is the process of creating a beautiful provisional that will guide tissue and predictably communicate the aesthetic outcome for the final restoration in the aesthetic zone. Combining the use of a custom fabricated provisional abutment, provisional restoration and a custom fabricated impression coping many of the aesthetics challenges can be addressed. This information can then be communicated to the laboratory to ensure the most predictable aesthetic outcome possible. This program is designed to simplify and streamline the entire process of implant provisionalization and impression. This program will provide a systematic, step by step approach to tissue management, provisionalization and impression of implant cases.

Modern Crown Lengthening: Classification and Clinical Application
Crown lengthening procedures are indicated to provide adequate tooth structure in case of subgingival tooth fracture or caries, uneven gingival level, un-esthetic short crowns due to the tooth wear, inadequate axial height, altered passive eruption ,forced eruption of a single or multiple teeth and finally in case of gingival smile.
The treatment modality for esthetic crown lengthening procedure should be based on detail diagnosis in each case because of the multifactorial etiology and because of the type of therapy selected by the clinician, will have a direct implication for the esthetic result.

Periodontal-Prosthesis in Modern Dentistry – Part 1 of 2

When full mouth reconstruction is planned, it is very important to satisfy such expectations in order to provide successful treatment. Patients are often concerned about the cost and duration of treatment, and the pain, esthetics, comfort, and function after treatment. However, we cannot assure longevity unless the treatment has a scientific basis.
During reconstruction or restoration, we generally remove and replace the existing crowns. Secondary caries are mostly detected on removal of these. Due to the caries, the ferrule and tooth thickness are not adequate; and frequently, the condition may not be suitable for prosthetic treatment. In such cases, we choose to extract the tooth or perform crown lengthening to retain the tooth.Thse days many teeth that we could retain by crown lengthening procedure are replaced by implants. In this presentation, we describe some cases in which a crown lengthening proce

Interdisciplinary Dynamics of Complex Therapy: An Integrated Approach to Treatment Planning
This presentation challenges and guides clinicians to ask, and answer, fundamental questions that are required for designing successful treatment plans when facing complex cases. 1) What do I know (DIAGNOSIS), 2) Where do I apply it (EFFICACY), and 3) When do I apply it (SEQUENCE OF THERAPY). A special emphasis in this presentation will be placed on communication between team members, including clinicians, staff and laboratory. Methods of communications, such as digital design and mock-ups are also highlighted as part of an integrated approach to Treatment planning.

"The Rise of the Machines" Creating the Digital Dental Team: Man, Materials, and Machines
The new millennium has brought many advances in dental ceramics. None more important than processing techniques using Cad-Cam technology. These technologies have allowed the use of high strength glass ceramics and solid sintered Zirconia based ceramics that could not be used with conventional techniques. Thus, today it is possible to generate any type of indirect dental restoration with a Cad-Cam device. To date, no system has the ability to layer machined substrates to maximize anterior esthetics, which provides an excellent opportunity to use or combine the best of the human world with the best of the machine world to develop world-class anterior esthetics.
This presentation will cover, “THE CURRENT POSSIBILITES FOR THE BOUTIQUE DIGITAL DENTAL LAB and IN-OFFICE DIGITAL DENTAL TEAM”, and the clinical and laboratory steps in the process for different types of restorations, along with esthetic enhancements for the use of these ceramics.
