Nicholas,
I do use a rubber dam at times and make my decision on tooth color and the reason is when I have used the rubber dam I have less chance of verifying tooth color at the same visit due to the teeth drying out more.

Ronald Goldstein - (7/22/2013 3:45 PM)
Alaap, If I am closing a diastema and the mesio-incisal angle is involved I will be using a microhybrid. If not, I will use a microfill.

Visagism: The Art of Dental Composition
The aim of this article is to present a novel concept: Visagism. The Visagism concept helps dental clinicians
provide restorations that account not only for esthetics,
but also for the psychosocial features of the created image,
which affect patients’ emotions, sense of identity,
behavior, and self-esteem. These factors, in turn, affect
how observers react to patients following treatment.
