Esthetic Rehabilitation Using Porcelain Veneers - The MicroVision Approach

Description:
Nowadays our patients impose high demands to final outcomes especially in esthetically important zones. It is well known that the best way to get perfect results is minimal-invasive approach. And we can give our patients guarantied treatment based on microdentistry. Perfection, predictability, control, safety are small parts of the list of our modern opportunities that allow us to be successful. It is also proved that the role of magnification in the era of precise and non-invasive dentistry is mandatory. This webinar is about micro porcelain veneers. It based on MicroVision philosophy from planning to realization of esthetic rehabilitation.

Minimally Invasive Restorations through Maximum Visualization Premium Member Content

Minimally Invasive Restorations through Maximum Visualization
This presentation will highlight providing minimally invasive restorations for patients, aided through technology such as magnification, illumination, percussion diagnostics and current dental material choices. Of critical importance today is the realization that patients are living longer and want to retain their teeth for a lifetime. With these factors in mind, the preservations of tooth structure is even more critical today than in former generations. For restoration longevity of minimally invasive restorations there must be a commitment to precision aided by magnification, understanding the physical properties of materials, controlling and managing the occlusal forces, learning how to measure and monitor the mechanical stability of tooth and implant stability with new technology breakthroughs and preventive control instructions.

Back to the Future: Feldspathic Veneers & Zirconia Layering Techniques
Full monolithic zirconia with external stain technique is one of the popular preference techniques used today. There are many selections of multi-layered zirconia disks and blocks available in the market, which enable dental technicians to produce faster and more esthetic results. When it comes to anterior fabrication, however, full monolithic is not always the best option to process the case. There are many varieties; unique translucencies and characterization that can be seen naturally, making it nearly impossible to achieve with just an external stain technique. That is to say, in order to achieve a natural and lifelike fabrication, a layering technique must be done. This lecture will speak about all ceramic layering technique with current technology of digital tools and how these technologies may be able to assist us.

Smile Design and The Bonded Functional Esthetic Prototype (BFEP)
The lecture will cover some simple Photoshop techniques to enhance a smile digitally to present to the patient and motivate them to accept treatment. This lecture will mainly focus on the the step-by-step process of how to turn the 2-dimensional Photoshop smile design into a 3D Bonded Functional Esthetic Prototypes (BFEP’s) the patient wears to verify esthetic and functional acceptance. A very efficient technique using a new highly flowable but highly filled micro-hybrid that uses an injection molding tray technique will be demonstrated. A full arch composite bonding can be done in one hour with this technique. This BFEP technique can be used for “trial smiles” for pre-treatment esthetic and functional evaluation by the patient and the treatment team. It can also be used for long-term functional temporization for years if necessary. The BFEP will then be used as the final guide for preparations for Anterior Etched Ceramic restorations (porcelain veneers and glass ceramics.

Clinical Performance of Porcelain Laminate Veneers: Outcomes of the Aesthetic Pre-evaluative Temporary (APT) Technique

Clinical Performance of Porcelain Laminate Veneers: Outcomes of the Aesthetic Pre-evaluative Temporary (APT) Technique
The article evaluates the long-term clinical performance of porcelain laminate veneers bonded to teeth prepared with the use of an additive mock-up and aesthetic pre-evaluative temporary (APT) technique over a 12-year period. Sixty-six patients were restored with 580 porcelain lamintate veneers. Over 12 years, 42 laminate veneers failed, but when the preparations were limited to the enamel, the failure rate resulting from debonding and microleakage decreased to 0%. Porcelain laminate veneers presented a successful clinical performance in terms of marginal adaptation, discoloration, gingival recession, secondary caries, postoperative sensitivity, and satisfaction with restoration shade at the end of 12 years. The APT technique facilitated diagnosis, communication and preparation providing predictability for the restorative treatment. Limiting the preparation depth to the enamel surface significantly increases the performance of porcelain laminate veneers.

Retrospective Analysis of 26 Complete-Arch Implant-Supported Monolithic Zirconia Prostheses with Feldspathic Porcelain Veneering Limited to the Facial Surface

Retrospective Analysis of 26 Complete-Arch Implant-Supported Monolithic Zirconia Prostheses with Feldspathic Porcelain Veneering Limited to the Facial Surface
The purpose of this retrospective study was to evaluate the clinical performances of 26 implant-supported, complete-arch, monolithic zirconia restorations with facial feldspathic porcelain veneers for the rehabilitation of completely edentulous patients. Eighteen patients were treated with a total of 26 complete-arch fixed prostheses. The mean follow-up time was 20.9 months. In total, 154 implants were placed supporting 309 retainers and pontics. The results of this retrospective evaluation showed that monolithic zirconia restorations with facial porcelain veneer provided satisfactory clinical performance and suggest that these rehabilitations are a viable treatment option for completely edentulous patients.
