Full Arch Minimally Invasive Direct Composite Smile Makeover
Description:
Dr. Richard Coates shares with us the step by step methodology of increasing vertical dimension in a 27 year old with severe erosion, and then the steps he took to restore this very difficult case from posterior teeth to anterior. He details all steps taken through to finishing and polishing of the direct bonded composite restorations.
The Kois occlusal deprogrammer was key to success in this case and fabrication and features of the deprogrammer are also explained in this webinar.

Informative.

Restorative Direct is sure the first choice for many patients. But I think is of nothing educational value to show these complex procedures...with no dam use, imho.

Hi Hassam , the single tooth Mock-up was created with idealised proportions and a length of 11mm. This was then checked with lips in repose in order to gain an idea of our finalised smile line. (The presentation got a little stretched in widescreen before publication) but I can advise you that ideal proportions were achieved in order to close diastema and give us desired length of tooth. I have been mocking up by eye for years but would consider a full wax up to be an appropriate way to creat a single tooth stent for the same purpose. Remember I was also replacing lost palatal tissue so this has to be included in the mock-up. I have been a member of the AACD and Dental XP for nearly a decade and these organisations offer the best courses and conferences for international dentists.

Excellent work and presentation but my question dr. The single tooth mockup which determined the required hight of anterior plate depend on what ? Or just on visual examination. Thanx alote

Beautiful result, Richard! Precise and well illustrated video and reminded me of a similar case I did and published in the first Change your Smile book...but you have taken it to a new level. So congratulations on great technique and perfect video!!

Hi Mohammed, no bite guard required as we have a predictable deprogrammed stable occlusion developed with patient in CR through equilibration by addition. I have similar cases with a much longer history and have little experience of wear or restoration fractures. Yearly polishing is all I recommend and I confirm at reviews that we still have a stable occlusion. I would only place a bite guard if patient had recognised parafunctional wear.

Biofunctional Dynamic Occlusion
Overall, this lecture will create an understanding and relationship between the cervical spine and mandibular movements and the trilogy between Joints, Muscles and Occlusion. Most of the patients that we treat for dysfunction, were compromised during the early stages of growth and development. Overtime these created accommodations and compensations in the system induced by the physiology of the airway.
After a proper structural, functional analysis, and diagnostic, phase II offers the alternative of orthopedic facial development where we can restructure the architecture of the face and the airway.

Complex Case Rehabilitation in Light of New Technologies
This case report describes a step-by-step full arch restoration (upper and lower), rehabilitated utilizing new technologies in dentistry. CAD/CAM technology has changed not only the technician's working process, but also the clinician's, offering new benefits to clinical workflow. For example the possibility of using zirconia and its characteristics as a restorative material.
The clinician's and technician's professional backgrounds and relationships are critical to achieving optimal aesthetic and functional results; while prosthetic success depends upon an in-depth knowledge of the materials and their properties and on carefully performed clinical procedures, which are still of utmost importance to obtain satisfactory results.
