Innovative Autogenous Bone Collector

Description:
In this short yet extremely informative and vivid instructional surgical video, Dr. Maurice Salama demonstrates a new and innovative tool for efficiently and safely harvesting autogenous bone to enhance augmentation procedures. Neobiotech's ACM Bone Collector is an easy to utilize rotary instrument that is capable of quickly collecting a significant amount of viable bone in very manageable particle sizes.

Howard Gluckman - (8/28/2014 4:25 PM)

brilliant I love it. I will definitely be getting some of these.

Maurice Salama - (9/27/2012 2:01 PM)

Shane; I believe that vital autogenous bone to be somewhat better than any other bone products although we can achieve similar results with alternative bone grafting products such as allograft, xenograft and some synthetics. Surgical skill, proper technique and surrounding bone walls are also key to success.

Dr. Salama,
Do you feel harvesting particulate grafts intra-orally have a big advantage over particulate allograft materials? What differences are you seeing?

Thanks,

Shane

Maurice Salama - (8/10/2012 4:51 PM)

Wleed; 250-450 RPM with sterile water or saline.

Wleed Haq - (8/10/2012 3:38 PM)

Hi Maurice, what rpm do you use and do you use saline irrigation? Would you consider using it for osteotomy preparation for eg short Implants like BTI?

Maurice Salama - (7/18/2012 6:51 PM)

Mike and Shane; The drill size I use is Large 6.0mm but I use 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0mm as well. Typically they can last around 5 times before replacement. Great tool. You will not be disappointed. You can purchase on this site on the Neobiotech Product page.
Good luck Dr. Salama

Simultaneous Autogenous Block Grafting & Implant Placement
Autogenous bone is the gold standard of bone augmentation. Studies have also shown that bone blocks achieve far more predictable bone volume while reducing the need for further grafting at the time of implant placement.

Gingival Recessions Around Teeth & Implants - Clinical Approach
This lecture will cover different aspects of the perio-implantology environment: strategies to deal with the gingival recessions at single and multiple sites; socket management at the aesthetic zone; and alternatives to treat marginal recessions at already osseointegrated implants. All segments of the lecture made by the ImplantePerio group were backed up by strict and straightforward decision trees created by them to help and assist the clinicians to better treat the different conditions that may be presented at their offices, rendering predictable, consistent, aesthetic and stable outcomes using simple and user-friendly techniques.

Regenerative Procedures for Implant Site Optimization: Establishing the Perio-Implant Interface
Emerging concepts in implant dentistry have allowed bone preservation to become a reality, thus reducing the need for extensive augmentation procedures. Nevertheless, clinicians are still confronted with atrophic defects that require complex regenerative strategies for dental implant rehabilitation. This presentation will focus on some of the essential elements for a predictable regenerative protocol in implant site development. A discussion will include the use of defect topography as a guide in choosing a suitable augmentation technique. Several considerations that allow for tension free wound closure will be reviewed. Furthermore, an evidence based approach in graft material selection will be presented. Clinical cases will then be reviewed, to demonstrate how to integrate the presented principles into daily clinical practice.

Interpositional Bone Grafts to Treat the Posterior Atrophic Mandible Premium Member Content

Interpositional Bone Grafts to Treat the Posterior Atrophic Mandible
This presentation analyzes the interpositional bone graft or inlay technique, discussing the reconstructive surgical approach. Horizontal osteotomy with the interposition of bone in the form of a “sandwich” involves raising a coronal osteotomized segment of the mandible, which is still attached to the lingual periosteum, and interpositioning a block bone graft. This technique guarantees a dual vascular supply to the inlay graft from the lingual periosteum and from the residual bone; it also allows optimum use of the native basal bone, which should be less prone to resorption. The advantages and disadvantages of the inlay technique are compared with other commonly used augmentation techniques in the management of posterior mandibular atrophies.

Rehabilitation of the Extreme Atrophic Jaws
In this lecture you will learn several alternatives for the full arch rehabilitation of the jaws with different degrees of resorption. Several cases will be presented step-by-step with high-quality pictures for each technique explained. The main goals are to avoid complex regeneration procedures, to avoid zigomatic surgery and to still be able to perform immediate loading in the most compromised scenarios. All-on-Four technique, palatal approach technique, pterygoid implants and the most recent Subperiosteal Implants are some of the key-concepts presented.
