Great process! Would you consider using the black marker conversely? In other words, use the lvs1 depth cutting bur first. Then mark the troughs to be black. This way, when we use the lvs2 to bring the remainder of the prep to depth, the black marks the depth not to exceed. It would be easier to see the depth cuts. Once done, the final touches of the lvs2 could then lightly remove these black marks that are our depth. (would there be any harm in having the black marker on cut enamel as I am suggesting?) - Gary Rabinowitz, NYC

Choosing Anterior Ceramics – The Concept of Restorative Volume - Part 1 of 2
In this lecture the author presents reviews significant literature and integrates it with clinical experience to select relevant factors that could provide a logical and practical guideline for restorative decisions in anterior teeth. The presented Concept of Restorative Volume is based on structural, optical, and periodontal factors. Each of these factors will influence the short and long-term behavior of restorations in terms of esthetics, biology, and function.

Adhesive Dentistry: From Direct to Indirect Restorations
Restorative dentistry has changed in recent years. A good esthetic and functional rehabilitation starts from the proper clinical evaluation of the patient and of his problems, planning all the clinical and laboratory procedures in order to reduce the possibility of performing a subpar restoration.
It is very important to have a synergy between the clinician, the dental technician and the patient and to make the right use of the protocols and a flow chart to address all patient needs. The goal is to achieve the right balance between biology, esthetic and function by applying a minimally invasive approach.

Back to the Future: Feldspathic Veneers & Zirconia Layering Techniques
Full monolithic zirconia with external stain technique is one of the popular preference techniques used today. There are many selections of multi-layered zirconia disks and blocks available in the market, which enable dental technicians to produce faster and more esthetic results. When it comes to anterior fabrication, however, full monolithic is not always the best option to process the case. There are many varieties; unique translucencies and characterization that can be seen naturally, making it nearly impossible to achieve with just an external stain technique. That is to say, in order to achieve a natural and lifelike fabrication, a layering technique must be done. This lecture will speak about all ceramic layering technique with current technology of digital tools and how these technologies may be able to assist us.

Minimally Invasive Oral Rehabilitation... No More Crowns Please
Many patients are in need of oral rehabilitation but cannot afford it, and we see them suffer and deteriorate feeling helpless. The traditional full mouth rehabilitation, is often excessive (it is extremely rare when a patient really needs a full mouth), and because is expensive, it is rarely accepted. Additionally most commonly crowns are used for rehabilitation, specially on patient with parafunctions. In this eye opening presentation, Dr. Ruiz demonstrates how adhesive dentistry breaks many of the rules we have been taught, as well as the importance of proper occlusal management.
