what kind of temporary teeth do you give the patient at the surgery day? levi_dent@walla.com

Thank you Henry. Yes, in fact the one time abutment is also, from our perspective, a tremendous advantage in terms of the quality of the soft tissue sealing that you can get around our dental implants. Despite being on an animal study that has been clear for us, since Lindhe & Berglundh 1996 publication on J Clin Periodontol, that one time abutment could perhaps be plus on quality soft tissue sealing around implants. I couldn't agree more with you. Congrats again for the amazing team work and also for the wonderful presentation. Filipe.

Filipe, great post and discussion. Yes, we are big proponents of "multi-unit" abutments for the reasons you so eloquently described. An additional reason not often discussed, however, is that this approach often allows clinicians to place the abutments at the time of surgery and never replace them, i.e. one-abutment/one-time, which has advantages with maintaining peri-implant tissue. Sometimes, however, if enough implants are placed, we can segregate the case into smaller segments and at that time we may utilize custom or CAD/CAM abutments. Thanks again.

Treating the Terminal Dentition: A Patient-Center Approach
In patients with terminal dentition esthetic and functional replacement is a necessary objective, but no longer a sufficient-objective: nowadays, due to the clinical and extra clinical characteristics of these patients, management of the therapy is as important as its conclusion. Respect of the principle of autonomy, reduction of treatment length, simplification of surgical procedures and prosthetic management of implant immediate loading are the cornerstones of this philosophy and are the object of this lecture.

Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy: Decision Making in the 21st Century
Non-surgical periodontal therapy is a vital part of everyday dental practice. Since the majority of periodontal therapy is performed by general dentists and dental hygienists, it is critical that clinicians have all of the requisite skills and information needed to perform these services at the highest level possible. The purpose of this presentation is to provide the latest evidence- and practice- based information on periodontal debridement and adjunctive therapies that can improve patient outcomes. Though surgical procedures may still need to be performed in some sites, the majority of inflammatory periodontal disease can be eliminated or reduced significantly using the techniques and protocols discussed in this educational segment on non-surgical periodontal therapy.

Prosthetic Gingival Reconstruction in a Fixed Partial Restoration - Part 1: Introduction to Artificial Gingiva as an Alternative Therapy
The Class III defect environment entails a vertical and horizontal deficiency in the endentulous ridge. Often, bone and soft tissue surgical procedures fall short of achieving a natural esthetic result. Alternative surgical and restorative protocols for these types of prosthetic gingival restorations are presented in this three-part series, which highlights the diagnostic and treatment aspects as well as the lab and maintenance challenges involved.

Quest for the All Ceramic Restoration

Quest for the All Ceramic Restoration
The all-ceramic, full-coverage restoration has long been the center of the profession's ardent quest for the consummate esthetic restoration. Over the years, we have come to acknowledge the optimal esthetics of the all-porcelain crown, but its tendency to fracture over time rendered it an "alternative" restoration for specifically selected cases when compared to the "workhorse" of porcelain-fused-to-metal restorations. The initial dental feldspathic porcelains exhibited low shear strength with a…
